China is a big developing country and a architectural power for its in the urbanization development period. Its reported that newly built house area every year has been up to 2 billion square meter which is possible more than total that of all the developed country. So if sustainable development can be realized, then great environmental benefit will be made.
China is a architectural material production and consumption country but relatively backward in aspect of sustainability. In 2010, we produced 1.87 billion tons of cement occupying over 50% of world total output. Therefore, pursuit to production increase is no longer our aim, instead realizing low emission and satisfying needs of greening architecture is in the first priority in the future.
